It's update time - 2018 Events and Happenings
Hello winter - cold enough to see your breath and depending on where you live, cold enough to see your thoughts 💭 while day dreaming and planning for the upcoming season.
Here, the news of what is going on in my world:
1) I will back teaching at the Wulff Fly Fishing School - fabulous fellow instructors in a setting that needs to be experienced - the best of the Catskills.

2) Super proud of being on the HMH Vise Pro Team. Made in Maine by some pretty cool people. Quality fly tying equipment. Come by the HMH booth at the Edison Fly Fishing Show - I'll be tying there Friday morning 9-12, January 26th.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a Snap-cast!
Mother Nature's wonderful heat lamp made an appearance this past Sunday, making conditions doable for an Instructor's Continuing Education workshop at the Lancaster Show .
CE gatherings are the perfect cabin-fever fix, this particular one organized by pals Gary Kell MCI and Chris Haag CI, and sponsored by the Chesapeake Council. My task, to help instructors clarify and filter the Spey/Two-hand soup that simmers out there on the interweb. The meat of the presentation was Q&A, with some Show-n-Tell and casting.

Wish You Were Here
One of the very best things about meeting and helping people become better casters and fly fishers is the receiving their reports, be they emails, phone calls and or photographs from their trips. It makes me proud (... you need a long walk if that sounds cliché).

| Bob's GT |
What's neat about the above interview picture is rather than the usual fly casting instruction, I taught Bob some stuff about leaders and knots for his trip to the Seychelles. We sat in his corner office, windows overlooking Fifth Ave. and 57st. NYC, coffee table covered in spools of mono, tape measure, nippers etc... talking about knots, tying and re-tying all the while the work space just outside his carried on, interspersed with curious glances, followed by humored expressions by our activity. That and the fish was one of the largest GTs that season. Smiles all around.
